Chris has worked to support the disability community for well over a decade - at various times he has done community-embedded behavioral support work, vocational rehabilitation, and disability services work in higher education. He is currently the director of the disability resource office at the University of Virginia, and serves as the President of Virginia AHEAD, an editor for the Journal of Postsecondary Education and Disability, and a member of AHEAD’s Research Review Panel.

Leah Burris is a graduate student at the University of Pittsburgh studying Rehabilitation and Assistive Technology. Following their undergraduate degree in Gender and Sexuality studies, they interned with Disability Services at Virginia Commonwealth University and served as a peer mentor to Blind High Schoolers through the Department for the Blind and Visually Impaired. As a Blind and otherwise disabled student themself, they are intimately aware of the importance of equitable access and are committed to increasing access to education for the Disabled community.
